Synopsis

This talk will discuss the growing significance of using Insulated Sandwich Panels (ISPs) alongside the trend of Single-Ply Roofing Systems as integral components of the building envelope. Both strategies align with the Industrialized Building System (IBS) and support the ambition of achieving Net Zero Carbon by 2050. The presentation will highlight the exceptional insulation values and visual appeal of ISPs and Single-Ply Roofing Systems, which provide a full air and water barrier with continuous, rigid insulation. Their high R-values (and lower U-values) enhance thermal efficiency, meeting stringent energy requirements and ensuring occupant comfort. Additionally, it will cover how both ISPs and Single-Ply Roofing Systems stabilize internal conditions, enhance fire safety, and control humidity, making them essential for modern building enclosures in response to climate challenges. The talk will also explore how these materials facilitate rapid building processes, especially in specialized facilities such as food processing plants and data centres, while aiding decarbonization efforts across various industries by promoting energy efficiency and reducing operational carbon emissions. Furthermore, attendees will learn about the versatility of this building envelope in achieving modern design aesthetics without sacrificing durability or performance. This presentation aims to provide valuable insights into the advantages and considerations of incorporating insulated sandwich panels and Single-Ply Roofing Systems within the framework of sustainable and efficient building practices, benefiting both the construction industry and environmental goals.

About the Speaker:

Ms. Angeline Goh has over 15 years of experience in the construction industry, focusing on project management and business administration. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Malaya (UM, 2006) and an MBA from the University of Putra Malaysia (UPM, 2011). Currently, she serves as the Business Manager focus on Insulated Sandwich Panel and Single-Ply Membrane Roofing Division at Cemseal Industries Sdn Bhd, where she emphasizes innovative approaches for green façade projects and technical specifications. Prior to this, she worked as a Specification Manager in reputable paints and waterproofing industries, collaborating closely with project stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of various construction initiatives. Her technical expertise and deep understanding of market trends enhance her contributions to industry practices and project success.
